Posada 2017

I was asked to create a design for my campus’ annual Posada Navideña which is a Mexican religious tradition where community members get together for food, music and a re-enactment of the journey of Mary and Joseph and the birth of Jesus Christ.

Although the tradition is religious in nature, when designing the flyer I was asked to focus more on the festivities and food to make the event more welcoming to people of different faiths and cultures.

I chose the colors to illustrate the traditional Christmas event that a posada is and created illustrations of what people could expect at the event. I wanted the design to evoke the warmth and culture of the event.
